Star-Wars-Rogue-One-Android-phone-areality-thanks-to-SoftBank-and-SharpWhen one talks of movie franchises, they don’t get bigger than Star Wars. Now, we will have a Star Wars Rogue One themed Android smartphone which will be released in Japan on the SoftBank network. The phone has been made by Sharp, which continues to churn out quirky devices in its home turf.

This also comes after Warner Bros. had a tie up with Nokia for Batman, when the older Lumia Windows Phones had a dark knight edition. More recently, Samsung had a tie up with Disney for the Avengers with a variant of the Galaxy S6 being clad in an Iron Man suit.Normally such phones are marketing gimmicks, but if the specs are to be believed that this phone could be quite decent. We’re talking about a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, a 5.3-inch Sharp full HD IGZO screen and a 22.6-megapixel snapper on the back.

It is also pretty slim at 7.6mm and packs in a TV Tuner of all the things for good measure. On the software front, expectedly, there’s a lot of Star Wars stuff to be had. Star Wars themed ringtones, wallpapers, emojis, an Android 6.0 skin, alarm clock and more is to be had with this device.

Live wallpapers which are a part of the device will make the screen look like an X-Wing or a Tie Fighter. It also comes preloaded with Pre-loaded Star Wars: Force Collection card game with a code for a gold card pack ticket and Five exclusive metal figurines taken from Rogue One. There’s also a movie player app themed on the movie.

The phone is set to be released in Japan on December 2. There’s a fat chance that this one will make it to India, but if you fancy it, then perhaps, you can ask your cool relative in Japan who is enjoying a bowl of ramen to get you one?
