Robbers’ gang busted, 30 mobiles seized

Ludhiana:

The CIA wing of the city police claimed to have busted a gang of robbers with the arrest of three persons. The police have also recovered 30 mobile phones, a motorcycle and a sharp weapon from them.

The accused have been identified as Vivek Singh alias Golu, a resident of National Colony, Ajay Kumar alias Kali of Bharpur Nagar and Sonu Kumar of Namdev Colony.

DCP (Detective) SPS Dhinda and ACP (Detective) Surinder Mohan held a press conference in this regard.

DCP Dhindsa said secret information was received that a gang of robbers was roaming in Mahatma Colony where a police party conducted a raid and nabbed three accused.

The DCP said the accused had done snatchings in city areas, such as Tibba Road, Tajpur road, Mahavir Colony, Dying complex and Kakka Road. Most of the targets were migrant labourers.

During investigation, the police found that accused Vivek was already facing six cases of liquor smuggling, snatching and others and in one of the cases, the accused was also declared proclaimed offender by the court.

The other accused Kali was also facing three criminal cases.

The DCP said the police remand of the accused would be sought from the court so that more members of the gang could be arrested and more recovery of mobile phones or valuables could be made.
